Mark Dohms, District 5970's Assistant District Governor met with the Club on Monday to review the operational policy of International President Mark Maloney and District Governor Michelle Bell (Who will meet with the Club on August 19th).  The general theme is:  Together we see a world where people unitee and take action to make a lasting change."  To accomplish this task it is suggested that Clubs:
  • Promote flexibility in operating the club in such issues as alternative membership and flexibility in programs and meeting protocols;
  • Make Rotary a "family of Rotarians in Meetings" by promoting social events with family units;
District 5970 will provide the following resources:
  • Provide image grants of up to $250 to permit clubs to advertise in local media;
  • Encourage participation in District and Global Grants;
  • Encourage the use of "Flat Paul" in your travels and uploads to our social websites;
  • Provide training in:  Leadership, Public Image, Membership Recruitment; the Foundation, and Officer Training;
  • Promote the status of the Rotary Foundation's 4 Star rating from Charity Navigator (one of best managed and least bureaucratic charity in the world);
  • Host a Rotary Summit Round table of Discussion in Rockwell City on October 8th.  the event will begin at 5:30 and end at 8:00 P.M.;
  • Host a yearly Leadership Summit;
  • Encourage attendance at the International Conference to be held on June 6-10 next summer in Honolulu.
Mark closed with the thought that the District has reengaged the Assistant Governors to become a Club resource to Rotary.  Use him to our needs.
